AUTUMN SHOWS FUR HAS A BRIGHT FUTURE
This season is seeing colour added literally from head to toe with the bright red and green shearling lamb long hats of Jean-Charles de Castelbajac or Burberry's must-have animal inspired peaked cap to the golden lamb boot cuffs of Vivienne Westwood Red Label.
Peter Som and Moschino Cheap Chic get in on the colour blocking act in their stark contrast black and white coats with pocket and sleeve detailing or zigzag and Jen Kao also channels zigzag patterning in multi-colour sleeves and hemline on intarsia mink. Malandrino combined leather and dyed purple mink in belted coat, Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti expresses teals and reds in mid-length mink coats with grooved patternings and Elise Ă˜verland went multi-coloured with Mongolian lamb and quilted leather with violet sleeves, white cuffs and green front-fringe detailing. Emanuelle Ungaro keep it short and sweet with the huggable season lovely of the chubby coat in candy treat colours,
Isabel Marant Bekket leather and suede sneakers, while Diane Von Furstenberg and Emporio Armani uses eye-catching sensual tones on their variation of the theme. Celine and Marni both get patchwork with contrasting lapels and sleeves or top to bottom colours, whereas Missoni and Prabal Gurung get feathered in lavender hues and graduated reds respectively. Jeremy Scott goes flirty in bubble gum pinks and fizzy oranges in coats or striking neon hems in skirts and Giambattista Valli continues the flamboyant fun on a fitted yellow Karakul skirt.
They say you should dress to impress and these dresses certainly make an impression with Guy Laroche going vibrant red in a sheared lamb dress or Gianfranco Ferre's striking karakul dress. Louis Vuitton add leather corset to dark teals and purples for coat dresses in Toscana lamb as Giambattista Valli adds a bright red dyed mink hem to beaded shell tops and Roksanda Ilincic really rocks the riotous reds and blues in vests.
The stole certainly stole the spring/summer tone show with Prada's minxy masterpiece and the couture giants continue their hue homage for the cooler months, with the likes of Sonia Rykiel also hoping to reign colour supreme with her autumn/winter offerings in purples,
Sac Lancel, neon yellows, burnt orange and baby pinks. Richer hues in sumptuous burgundy on stoles come from Leonard's dyed fox and Gucci's deeply seductive dark pinks. Collars are getting bold this season with the rustic reds of Elene Cassis dyed fox, orange pom-poms of Gaspard Yurkievich or greens and blues of vibrant Versace, while scarves come in lively hues on rabbit from Jill Stuart.
Continuing the accessories line in fur fashion, Emporio Armani go Cobalt blue on their Mongolian lamb satchel while Felder Felder utilise the trick of the light in their high gleam blue/black bracelet trims to perfectly finish any outfit this coming autumn/winter season.
